A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID is required. Bring the document(s) to be notarized, unsigned (unless instructed otherwise), and any signers must be present. Documents must be complete with no blank fields before notarization.

An expired ID is generally not acceptable for notarization even if covered by a DMV grace period for driving purposes. Documents must be fully completed with no blank fields before notarization can take place. A notary public cannot notarize an incomplete document. If you are unsure whether your document is ready, reach out before your appointment and we will be happy to advise.

North Carolina caps notary fees at $10.00 per notarized signature. A travel fee based on round-trip distance is calculated using the current IRS mileage rate and is communicated and agreed upon before every appointment. There are no surprise charges - your full fee is confirmed before we arrive.

We provide bedside notary service at hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities across SE Raleigh, Garner, Knightdale, Clayton, and surrounding areas including WakeMed, UNC Rex, and Johnston UNC Health locations. Please contact us in advance so we can prepare for your specific document type and facility requirements.

Yes - this is one of the most common reasons families contact us. We travel directly to homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and hospitals across our service area. The signer must be mentally competent and able to communicate their intent at the time of signing. If you have questions about a specific situation, reach out before booking and we will advise.

Yes. We serve Johnston County communities including Clayton and surrounding areas in addition to our primary Wake County service area. Contact us to confirm availability for your specific location.

In North Carolina, a will generally does not require notarization to be valid - it typically requires two witnesses. However, a self-proving affidavit, which involves a notary, is commonly recommended as it may help simplify the probate process for your family. If you do need a self-proving affidavit notarized, we can come to your home or preferred location.

Not at this time. For real estate loan signings and mortgage closings, we recommend working with a notary who holds a certified Loan Signing Agent designation. We are happy to point you in the right direction if needed.
